google scholar h-index: 45, with 10,176 citations, as of 6 Oct 2026. Excluding self-citations the h-index is 38, counted on the OpenAlex citation graph.
* indicates where I am first author; ** indicates where I am senior author; ✝ indicates graduate students/trainees mentored by me and ✤ indicates post-doc authors advised or mentored by me
My research is inherently interdisciplinary, as I study the general principles that underlie cooperation across systems, from human societies to cellular ones (including looking at cancer as a problem of cheating in multicellular bodies). This means that my publications are in a combination of psychology, biology and anthropology journals.
